This version of Tux Paint for Windows is a plain ZIP archive (extractable with '7-Zip' or other tools), which doesn't install into your system, but instead runs from within its own folder.

It is meant those who would prefer not to download an installer .exe program. Þetta er einnig þekkt sem "Portable"-útgáfa.

Note: If you have a newer version of Windows (7, 8, 10, 11), then you should download the version for newer Windows. If you have an older version of Windows (95, 98, ME), you can download an older version of Tux Paint for the earlier versions of Windows.

Tux Paint for Windows comes as two parts, each in its own ZIP file:

• Tux Paint
  The core program and data-files (user interface graphics, sound effects, etc.), and "Tux Paint Config.", a graphical configuration tool for parents and teachers.

• Gúmmístimplar (valfrjálst)
  A collection of 'rubber stamp' images (and corresponding data and sound effects) for the "Stamp" tool.

• Tux Paint & Tux Paint Config. for Windows is available for both newer 64-bit ('x86_64') and older 32-bit ('i686') CPU architectures.
