Tux Paint for the One Laptop per Child (OLPC) "XO-1"

Tux Paint 0.9.18 (plus some changes) has been made available for the One Laptop per Child "XO-1" laptop.

Tux Paint for the XO-1 comes as a single bundle that includes both the main program and the add-on 'stamps' collection.

Notes on Installting: Tux Paint must be installed as /usr/share/activities/TuxPaint.activity because of the way it was built. At the command line, you can use wget to download Tux Paint. Then unzip TuxPaint-1.xo in the /usr/share/activities directory as root. You will need to restart sugar; "telinit 3" followed by "telinit 5" will do this.

It is possible that SDL may need to be installed. Something like "yum install SDL_Mixer SDL_TTF SDL_Image" ought to do.

(For more information on the "Sugar-ization" development of Tux Paint, see the Tux Paint page at the OLPC Wiki.)

Camera Tool

A small Python script has been created that you can use on the XO-1 to take the most recent webcam photos from the Journal and insert them into Tux Paint, so you can paint on them.
