(Davis, CA, USA — March 1, 2008) New Breed Software announces the immediate availability of Tux Paint version 0.9.19. Tux Paint is a completely free, award-winning drawing program for young children that's developed and maintained by volunteers around the world.
As usual, the Tux Paint team keeps both the youngest end-users and their security-minded parents, teachers and computer lab administrators in mind. Correcting an issue in the last release, Mac users no longer need to run Tux Paint in Administrator mode the first time for it to run properly. A new configuration option allows users to decide whether or not the computer's screensaver should be disabled while Tux Paint is running. This latest release of Tux Paint also corrects a number of issues introduced in the previous version, including bugs that could cause crashes and freezes on both Windows and Mac OS X.
Tux Paint, renowned for its multi-lingual capabilities, continues to be translated into new languages, while other translations are corrected or expanded upon. New in this version: Azerbaijani, Khmer, Macedonian, Occitan and Zapoteco. Australian and Canadian variants of English have also been introduced.
For a complete list of changes, see the Tux Paint change log, Tux Paint Config. change log and Tux Paint Stamps change log.
Tux Paint 0.9.19 is available immediately as source-code. It is available for download free of charge from the project's website. For further information, visit: www.tuxpaint.org and www.newbreedsoftware.com.
