(Davis, CA, USA — June 30, 2008; updated July 5, 2008) New Breed Software is pleased to announce a new release of Tux Paint, the completely free, award-winning drawing program for young children.
Tux Paint continues to improve and expand with Version 0.9.20, offering fixes for a number of minor bugs in previous releases, a translation for Asturian speakers, and dozens of new Stamps. Tux Paint is also once again available for older versions of Microsoft Windows (Windows95, 98 and ME) and older versions of Red Hat and Fedora CORE Linux.
Though a minor release, Tux Paint Version 0.9.20 boasts major updates to the Stamps collection, adding nearly 100 new images to the already abundant selection of photographic and pre-drawn clip-art for use with Tux Paint's versatile Stamp tool. New stamps include a collection of cartoonish buildings and scenery, a variety of new animals, vehicles and food, as well as more holiday-themed stamps.
For a complete list of changes, see the Tux Paint change log, Tux Paint Config. change log and Tux Paint Stamps change log. You can also browse the stamps collection online.
Tux Paint 0.9.20 and the new Stamps collection are available now for Microsoft Windows Vista, XP, 2000, ME, 98 and 95, Red Hat and Fedora Linux, Intel- and PowerPC-based Apple Mac OS X systems, and as source-code.
Tux Paint available for download free of charge from the project's website. For further information, visit: www.tuxpaint.org and www.newbreedsoftware.com.
